#47: Two goldfish it is
This started off as a perfectly reasonable request – two goldfish – but things escalated pretty quickly. What’s an 8-year-old kid going to do with a jet? Kids get all kind of crazy ideas in their heads, and more often than not, these ideas disappear as quickly as they arrive. Within a week, this kid probably forgot all about the jet.
We can imagine he did get the two goldfish – after all, it’s not that big a request. If anything, fish are the easiest pet imaginable – they sit quietly in the aquarium, they don’t take up space or create any mess around the house, and taking care of them requires nothing but feeding them every now and then. In a way, it’s the perfect way to teach a kid about responsibility, without giving him too much responsibility.
