A Selfless Good Deed
In Friends, Joey argued that there’s no such thing as a “selfless good deed” – because doing something good for other people makes you feel happy and proud of yourself, so you get something in return. It isn’t selfless, because it gives you the satisfaction of knowing you’re a good person.

If you ask us, even if someone gets satisfaction from helping others, there’s nothing wrong with that. Take that woman, for example, who helped another woman in distress simply because she saw her crying at the store and she realized she could use a hand. She did something good, and there’s no reason why she shouldn’t feel proud!
