Fearless Babies
The concept that babies couldn’t feel pain was a widespread belief for many years. It was believed that because babies couldn’t communicate their pain in the same way that adults could, they didn’t experience pain in the same way either. That seems like an insane conclusion, right?!

As a result, babies often underwent medical procedures without any form of anaesthesia or pain relief. It wasn’t until the 1980s that this belief began to be challenged, and it wasn’t until the 1990s that pain management for infants became a standard practice in many medical settings.
