#45: The Babushka Lady
There are plenty of unknowns and conspiracy theories surrounding President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. None is more fascinating than the Babushka Lady. The term refers to an unidentified woman who was present during the assassination. Instead of panicking and ducking for cover like the rest of the crowd, this woman remained calm and took photographs or filmed the whole thing.

Her presence became known based on recorded photos and films of the tragic incident. Obviously, many people were suspicious of this woman’s calm demeanor and have speculated on whether or not she was involved in the assassination. She got her nickname based on the headscarf she was wearing that day. The woman’s true identity and the film or photographs she captured have never been identified.
